Hey y’all! My name is Sandi. I’m 49 years old…will be 50 in September. In the last few months my world has been flipped upside down, hence the blog name “Everything Changes.”
My world actually started flipping in January of 2020 when by dad passed away. He had been battling stage 4 kidney disease for a while. He went into the hospital for a below-the-knee amputation and never came home. He was 80 years old. That was really hard but my family managed to find a new normal.
In December of 2023, my mom was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. She had a thrombectomy but went into cardiac arrest the next day and didn’t pull through. Her death was more sudden than my dad’s and it’s just been really hard to deal with. She was my best friend.
I recently found out that I have type 2 diabetes and a low thyroid level. I also have a swollen lymph node in my neck that is very painful.
My super shy 14 year old daughter has a boyfriend. I was not ready for that either!
Everything is changing and I’m not ready for it!
This is a new journey for me. Dealing with one thing at a time is difficult but when it seems everything happens at once, it can be overwhelming.
I’m clinging to my faith in God. With my parents, I have peace in knowing that they both knew Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. I know they are in Heaven and that brings me great comfort. My heart still hurts but I do have that peace.
